New Zealand artist Rick Youmans will visit Chile in August, where he will be part of ArtStgo, the country’s most important art event that brings together national and international creators. After two years, the production is fine-tuning the last details for its long-awaited 2022 version, which will take place on Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM).

Rick Youmans will be the only Kiwi artist, and he will present his exhibition “SKY INK SEA, a journey from Aotearoa-New Zealand”. The exhibition reflects on his experiences near the sea since, as a good navigator and a Piscean, it is the element that raises his spirit and inspires him.

The SKY INK SEA collection represents the moods of the ocean and the sky, blending semi-realism and abstraction with minimal brush strokes. While avoiding the use of colour, the artist emphasises the emotion that comes from the brush and the subtle differences in tone.

During the fair days, the public can observe the artist paint live, and learn more about his experience and artistic work, in addition to the exhibition and presentation of the art book SKY INK SEA. Rick looks forward to interacting with the audience, discussing art and other exhibition topics.

It is essential to mention that the event runs from 11:00 to 20:00 on both days. As it is a hybrid event, the exhibition will also be available online from August 20 to September 30.
